Realization of an ultra-sensitive, compact, slim sensor

ShokacChip™ is an ultra-sensitive compact 3-axis tactile sensor. Fine piezo-electric resistors are mounted in 3 directions on a 2 mm square silicon chip to realize high sensitivity to pressure in 3 axial directions.

ShokacChip™ is capable, for example, of directly measuring force including shearing force (force in the sliding direction) in 3 axial directions using a single sensor.

Capable of mounting on flat and curved surfaces, this sensor allows mounting angles to be changed freely. In addition, changing the material used in the exterior that encloses the silicon chip makes it possible to freely set the softness when touched and the sensor sensitivity.
